Podcast: Filling out the All-Star Rosters

January 25, 2016

The two All-Star teams in Toronto this year may have some unconventional coaches.

Out West, Warriors assistant Luke Walton has guided the team not only to the best record in the NBA this season, at 40-4, but guided the team to 24-straight wins to open the season, te longest streak in league history.

Only Walton was filling in for Steve Kerr. Last season, Kerr guided Golden State to its first title in 40 years, but was forced to miss the beginning of the year after suffering complications from off-season back surgery. Kerr made his season debut Friday, leading his team to a 122-110 victory over the Pacers.

The Eastern Conference coaching situation is much more murky, as the Cleveland set the unprecedented mark of firing its coach midway through the season, despite having the best record in the conference. The Cavaliers even bypassed appointing a temporary coach while conducting a search for a permanent replacement. Instead, the team named Tyronn Lue the immediate successor to David Blatt, even signing him to a three-year contract before he served a single game as a head coach.

In our latest podcast, we name our seven reserves for each conference, eliminate some dead weight in fantasy basketball and much more.
