Podcast: Cleveland is the NBA’s Latest Title Town

June 20, 2016

One game elevated the status of LeBron James into the same realm as the greatest players ever to step onto an NBA court.

A triple-double Sunday night — just the third ever recorded in a Game 7 during the NBA Finals —completed the most improbable comeback in championship round history.

The Cavaliers managed to erase a 3-1 series deficit and toppled the most successful regular season team in league history on their home court, as James played at a level simply unmatched in league history.

The 31-year-old dominated literally each aspect of the game, leading all players in total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks during the 2016 NBA Finals, the first player ever to sweep each category to claim a title.

The Warriors ran out of answers for the four-time MVP, as he posted 27 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and two steals to clinch the championship he promised to bring the city on the day of his return two years ago.

The third championship of his career forever entrenched James onto the list of all-time greats, erasing any doubt about his abilities to deliver when it matters most.

In our latest podcast, we examine the overlooked aspects of James' success in the 2016 NBA Finals, break down the latest trade rumors from around the league and take a look ahead to Thursday's NBA Draft.
